Shoppers can now save 30 percent on either the 3.7-quart or 5.8-quart Cosori air fryers. The popular devices earned the coveted Amazon’s Choice badge, and have nearly 3,000 perfect five-star reviews from customers who rave about the variety of features and speediness. These Cosori models have 11 preset options to ease you into a range of recipes, like bacon, bread, and frozen foods, and has a handy preheating option that improves foods’ texture in under five minutes.
“I chose this particular air fryer over hundreds offered on Amazon,” wrote a reviewer. “It is easy to clean in the dishwasher, and the preset settings mean that I don't have to calculate time or temperature. But it's also easy to add time or subtract it if you need to.”
Also unique to the Cosori Air Fryer is its “shake reminder,” which helps ensure an even fry.
“I love the ‘shake’ reminder which comes on automatically on a few of the icon button foods,” added a customer. “When you take the tray out to shake the oven pauses and restarts at the same place on the timer to continue the cook.”
Shoppers also rave about the generous size and square shape of the Cosori Air Fryer: “Best money I've ever spent on a counter appliance. It definitely has plenty of room for a family of four. I made four good size stuffed chicken breast at one time. I can make 20 medium/large meatballs at one time just to give you a general idea of how big and deep it is.”
Amazon’s Deal of the Day includes both the 3.7-quart and 5.8-quart machines, both of which come with a cookbook filled with 100 air fryer-friendly recipes. You’d better hurry, though, because the deals end at 3 a.m. ET on Friday, November 1.

8 best air fryers: Your new favorite kitchen gadget
You never know when a new trend will catch on. It can happen anytime and in any imaginable category or scenario. In the kitchen, we’ve seen the rise of modern rice cookers, crock pots, pressure cookers, blenders and more.
Gadgets like the Instant Pot combine many of the above appliances into one and have been a bestseller on Amazon. Tap or click here for three Instant Pot secrets.
Air fryers have seen a rise in the past few years and as many are stuck home during the pandemic, the interest has only grown. Air fryers hold an advantage over more traditional and unhealthier fryers. What is an air fryer and which one is right for you? Read on to find out.
Air fryers don’t actually fry
It’s actually a lot of hot air. Air fryers work like a convection oven. Food is placed in a basket, and then hot air is rapidly circulated. This cooks and browns the food, adding crispiness without the need for oil. Tap or click here to take your health journey further with the five best weight-loss apps.
An air fryer can cook most foods intended to be deep-fried. In some models, you can also roast vegetables, cook meat and bake cookies. Frozen foods like french fries and mozzarella sticks can also be tossed into your air fryer for a quick snack.
There are many air fryers to choose from and we’re here to help you narrow down some of the best ones.
1. COSORI Air Fryer Max XL
This high-capacity air fryer has 11 presets for everything from steak to dessert and comes with 100 additional recipes. The COSORI Air Fryer Max XL uses up to 85% less fat than traditional fryers.
The removable nonstick basket is dishwasher safe, PFOA-free and BPA-free. Its 5.8-quart square basket can prepare a meal for three or more people in one shot, so go for this one if you’re cooking for the family.
2. Instant Vortex Pro Air Fryer Oven 9-in-1
If you’re cooking for large groups or parties, this air fryer’s basket measures a festive 10 quarts. The Instant Vortex Pro Air Fryer 9-in-1 has nine built-in smart programs that work with a touch of a button. You can roast, toast, broil, bake, reheat, air fry, dehydrate, reheat, proof dough or cook on the rotisserie.
Prepare two meals at once with dual cooking trays. The drip pan, cooking trays, rotisserie basket, rotisserie spit and forks are all dishwasher safe. A free iOS and Android app will give you access to a thousand recipes, and you can ask Alexa for more.
3. Chefman TurboFry 3.7 Air Fryer Oven
This smaller air fryer uses 98% less oil than traditional fryers and is geared towards the budget chef. The Chefman TurboFry 3.7 Air Fryer Oven’s 3.7-quart nonstick basket is dishwasher safe and suitable for small groups.
Air fry desserts, pizzas, chicken, French fries, vegetables and frozen foods or reheat your favorite meals. Set the timer to your desired cook time and the air fryer will shut off automatically when it’s done.
4. Philips Premium Digital Air Fryer
Remember the George Foreman Grill? It was touted to “Knock out the fat.” The Philips Premium Digital Air Fryer has fat removal technology to reduce and capture excess fat. Its three-quart capacity is suitable for a party of four.
This air fryer can bake, grill, roast, reheat, dehydrate and toast. The basket and other removable parts are dishwasher safe. Be aware that this air fryer’s fat removal feature adds to the price.
5. Dash Tasti-Crisp Air Fryer + Oven Cooker
If you don’t have much space on your countertop, the Dash Tasti-Crisp Air Fryer + Oven Cooker is one way to go. This air fryer lacks some features of its competitors and this is reflected in the price.
Load the two-quart fryer basket and set the temperature and time. That’s all you need to do for meals that are 70-80% less fattening than ones you would prepare in a traditional fryer. Toss in a dozen chicken wings or a pound of fries. This little air fryer is good for groups of 1-4 people.
6. Ninja Air Fryer
This model cooks at up to 75% less fat than traditional frying. The Ninja Air Fryer’s four-quart ceramic-coated nonstick basket and crisper plate are dishwasher safe. The basket fits up to two pounds of fries. Four programmable functions include air fryer, roast, reheat and dehydrate. You can use the dehydrate function to create your own chips.
7. Cuisinart TOA-60 Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer
Want to give air frying a shot but are reluctant to give up your convection toaster oven? Get an air fryer that does both. The Cuisinart TOA-60 Convection Toaster Oven Air Fryer is a full-size toaster oven with a built-in air fryer.
In addition to air frying, it also bakes, broils, warms and toasts. There is enough room inside to prepare any of the following at once: six slices of bread, three pounds of chicken wings, four pounds of chicken or a 12-inch pizza. Plus, the 60-minute timer has auto-shutoff.
8. Ultrean Air Fryer
Here’s another compact option for those of you without much counter space. The Ultrean Air Fryer is a multifunction cooker that can also grill, roast and bake. It has a 4.2-quart capacity and the basket is dishwasher safe.
You can prepare meals with up to 85% less fat than you would with a traditional fryer. Set the automatic timer for up to 30 minutes and check on your meal’s status via its LCD display. The included cookbook will help air fryer novices.
Dry Rub for Ribs
One of the keys to giving these ribs intense flavor is the dry rub. A perfectly balanced dry rub does wonders for flavor, but also seals in the juices and keeps the ribs from drying out. I swear by this BBQ rib rub.
It’s actually great on all types of meat, not just ribs. You’ll find that we use this rub in many recipes on this site (Tomahawk Pork Chops, Rack of Lamb, Chicken Legs, to name a few). But I think it adds just the right amount of spice to ribs.
The second most important thing is the bbq sauce. We use this homemade Bourbon BBQ Sauce that is so tasty, you’ll be licking it off the spoon. Once you air fry the ribs, slather them with this sauce and set them on the highest setting for a few minutes and they crisp right up with a nice char that will make you think you’ve just cooked them on an open flame.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Does an Air Fryer Work?
Let’s be clear air frying isn’t real frying. Real frying requires submersion of food into oil. The appliance is a countertop convection oven with a fan and heating element that heats the air circulated in the cooking chamber. Unlike the standard oven, air flows rapidly in a circular motion across food surfaces to create a crisp, brown crust. The chamber’s limited space and perforated basket intensifies the heat, which makes ‘frying’ possible in 60-minutes or less.
Can I Use My Air Fryer for Non-Fry Cooking?
Yes. Just don’t expect the same results you’d get in a grill or conventional oven. Go ahead and bake muffins or cookies, but know it won’t rise evenly or brown as much. You can use different models to roast, bake, reheat, grill, and even as a dehydrator.
Can I Entirely Not Use Oil?
Manufactures and recipes recommend you spray or pour in a little oil. However, the results are just as crisp without any coating of oil. If you want to maximize the flavor of olive oil or butter on food, add it when almost cooked.
Are Air Fryers the Same?
No! From the experience of testing multiple brands, almost all will crisp and darken food. But some models will do it more evenly, have a larger cooking capacity, and are more expensive. Defrosting food, preheating the machine, and stopping to shake ingredients during cooking will improve its performance.
What Inexpensive Accessories Helps With Air Fryer Use?
The five main things that make it much easier to use your air fryer: tongs, liners, mandoline, racks, and instant-read thermometers. Tongs for easy maneuvering of food. Parchment paper for super-easy cleanup mandoline for uniform, even slices foods come out even crisper on racks and a thermometer to ensure your cooking at the right heat.
How Often Should I Clean My Air Fryer?
After the use, wash each component thoroughly with non-abrasive tools. Foods with pungent smells tend to linger on the air fryer. The best way to eliminate the odor is to clean immediately. When the funk remains, soak the basket and pan for 30-60 minutes in water with dishwasher soap and baking soda. If that doesn’t work, squirt lemon juice onto a paper towel and wipe down the components.
Bubbles or Peeling on the Inside, What Am I to Do?
If bubbles form in the lining, contact customer service to ask if you qualify for a warranty replacement. The non-stick coating doesn’t pose a health risk. So you can cook just fine in it if you accidentally scratch the pan. Spray with oil or use a liner to serve as the replacement, non-stick coating.
Difficulty Sliding in the Basket into the Air Fryer?
Try removing some food. This usually occurs when baskets are overfull. Next, check if the basket is correctly attached to the pan. Lift it out of the pan and reinsert. Listen for the click to know it’s secure.
